About the Instructor.
Wendy J. Weiss is a professional makeup artist in the entertainment industry for over 20 years, working for numerous television and film productions. Wendy's most recent projects have included ABC's Last Man Standing and Disney series' Best Friends Whenever, Austin & Ally and Good Luck Charlie. Her film experience includes features such as Santa Clause 3 and Crazy on the Outside with Tim Allen. Wendy worked as Department Head Makeup Artist during all eight seasons on the ABC hit sitcom Home Improvement, and four seasons for The George Lopez Show. Her print credits include publications as Entertainment Weekly, Newsweek, and People Magazine to name a few. Some of the talent Wendy has worked with is Nancy Travis, Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler. Wendy has also been selected as a guest instructor of professional makeup at Otis College of Art & Design.
Wendy is a Journeyman in I.A.T.S.E. Local 706 for Makeup Artists and Hairstylists. She’s a member at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), and is licensed by the California State Board of Cosmetology. She has been an Emmy Awards Nominee and Honoree for her work on top rated shows. Having created a unique and practical method with her company, Makeup Basix, she specializes in application and training for beginners of beauty corrective makeup.
